A big thank you to all who helped in our Newark East campaign, to Matt Spoors for standing in Newark East, to all who stood in the 9 other divisions of the District and to all who voted Green in the County Council elections on 1st May.
Over 2,000 people were able to vote Green across the district, including more than 500 in Newark East.
We’d particularly like to thank all who contributed towards our Newark East campaign – you covered our printing and stationary costs which have totalled almost £1,200 since February 2025.
Thank you also to our envelope addressers, canvassers, leaflet and card deliverers, polling day knocker uppers, poster displayers, our dear friend Gill at Galerie in Kirk Gate for hosting our 2 action days.
We were supported by Newark members and supporters as well as Party members from Grantham and Spalding.
It is easy to be dispirited by the Reform vote in this area but those of us who had the privilege to knock on the doors of Green voters in Newark East know that there is a Green heart beating under the surface.
We have been able to reassure people that the Green Party is alive and well.
We reactivated the Newark & Sherwood Green Party at our AGM in January 2024 and our next AGM is now due.
